New Year

It’s always sad to say goodbye to the old year but so nice to see in a new one knowing that Spring is just a few weeks away with all the life and light that it promises.
It’s been an interesting year with many new and old friendships bringing pleasure and fun into my life.
To have some of my old schoolfriends back in my life has been lovely, not what I expected at all.
My knitting/spinning friends and Online friends have all brought so much into my life and I would like to say thank you for being there for me. You have all brought so much more to my daily life than you could ever imagine.
Things have started moving nicely at the house and we expect the Brickies to start within the next week! Very exciting stuff. There is a Flickr album for it and as soon as things really start to move, I’ll share the link and you’ll be able to see what’s going on.

In the meantime, I wish you all a very Happy New Year and may 2013 bring all that your heart desires.
With hugs and love, Cxx

I knew the company had to be in some way related to Kerrie Allman. For all the denials, it just seemed too quick for the buy-out to be anything other than a relation or “friend”. Watch out people. There seems to be no way to keep that woman down.

I’m sorry about the lack of updates on the continuing and never-ending story of KAL Media/All Craft Media/Kerrie Allman but I’ve been away for five weeks.  But for those of you waiting with baited breath, here goes.  If you’re easily confused, read no further.

So Tailor Made Publishing bought all the titles from the Administrators of All Craft Media and announced they would be publishing Yarnwise (formerly Knit, Inside Crochet and Handmade Living).  They appointed new, and very well thought of editors (two of whom I was delighted to meet while in England).  They also announced that they would sell on the other titles.

On 1st June, a new business, Craft Magazine Shop, owned by one Derek Barnes, issued a statement that it had bought the other titles – Sew Hip, Simply Beautiful, Modern Quilting and Handmade Fashion, AND that it would also be launching a new magazine, Handmade Weddings.  It…

Brownberry Yarns: new owners

Brownberry Yarns is about to re-open with new owners as Sarah steps down. Good luck with everything in your future, Sarah. You will be missed.

Today is the day that I move my blog… hopefully to woollybutterfly.wordpress.com if all goes well…!

Lisa & Judy are ready to take the reins and, after a couple of days closed whilst we stock-take etc, they’ll be re-opening Brownberry Yarns for business as usual – plus they have loads of fabulous ideas and tons of energy so I for one am really looking forward to watching the shop grow and grow 🙂

See you on the other side…!

Sarah x

PS. Still woollybutterfly on Rav and on Twitter 😉

For those who sew, craft, knit or like their world “handmade”. It’s shocking, sigh.

So KAL Media, sole Director Kerrie Allman,  went into liquidation last June with debts of over 200,000 pounds .  Out of its ashes came All Craft Media, sole Director Wayne Allman, Kerrie’s husband. On 4th May, All Craft Media was placed in Administration.  We don’t know yet what level of debt this company managed to acquire in its short trading life.

ACM published Knit Magazine, Inside Crochet, Handmade Living, Sew Hip, Modern Quilting, Simply Beautiful and launched last month Handmade Fashion.

On 30th April 2012, a few days before the Administrators pounced, a new company was incorporated in the UK – Handmade Living Limited.  Sole Director – Richard Rycroft, who happens to be Kerrie’s father.

The administrators put the titles of the publications out for sale and they already have a buyer for some of them – Yes, Handmade Living Ltd is reported to be buying Sew Hip, Modern Quilting and of course Handmade Living.

Now I…
